Library User Rights and Responsibilities
Any behavior that, in the sole discretion of Library staff, interferes with any user's rights or is inconsistent with user responsibilities may result in removal of the person from the Library and may also result in suspension of library privileges.
User Rights

Access to collections that support student and teacher school work

Knowledgeable, courteous, and effective service from Library Staff

Access to computers, equipment and facilities

Reference assistance and instruction to improve your research skills by staff availability

Safe environment

Clean environment

Conscientious and timely response to complaints and suggestions

Conducive environment for study and reading (excepting special events)
User Responsibilities

Use resources without damaging them.

Comply with posted acceptable use policies

Use resources, computers, equipment or facilities with care and respect

Keep food and beverages outside

Treat Library Staff with respect and courtesy

Allow sufficient time for the identification and delivery of information resources

Learn how to use Montgomery Library Media Center effectively

Put trash in proper recycling & trash bins

Notify Library Staff of spills, vandalism, etc.

Treat other users with respect and courtesy

Do not engage in disruptive or disorderly conduct, including but not limited to: fighting, physical or verbal threats, willful destruction, exhibitionism, harassment, impeding access, loud or obscene language

Notify Library Staff of any threatening or unsafe situations

Honor Library signage

Respect others with appropriate speaking volume

Notify staff of any issues or damage that need to be addressed to provide a more welcome, clean, safe, effective learning environment
